300 Series modem in Windows98

Please help with installing s 300 Series modem in W98 .My W95 drivers does not work or i have messed sth up. I got the blue screen saying sth. like VMODEM can not load a service.

Have you found out how to solve this. I have just upgraded to W98 and got the same problem. It seems as if the driver files ending in .HLP are not loaded. See Microsoft System information in accessories/system tools.
There is a similar known error for ati 600 modem (microsoft Q201294) which refers you to ATI, who do not wish to know since they no longer support modems
