Help on Compaq VGA Monitor Model 420T

I have an onlder Compaq color VGA monitor that need either an INF file for and/or information on that will let me know if it is capable of supporting a resolution of 800 x 600 and 256 colors. Every time I attempt to have it display this, the entire monitor "freaks-out," (for lack of a better techical word :-) The FCC ID on this monitor (even though it states is is a Compaq model 420T VGA Monitor) is FCC # GQBXXX4290) which on the FCC search page shows the monitor to be a Capetronic USA (HK), Inc., located Freemont, CA, (I can not find a web page for this company). Any would assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. robertlars@aol.com
