Vague error at boot... can't get rid of it.

after installing a different modem in a Compaq presario 9234 i had some errors apear because the previous modem left some things behind (drivers for older modem were trying to load.) I fixed those but there is one error that I don't understand. It reads: "Couldn't load driver fileMake sure the fil resent in the directory." It looks exactly like that. The weirdest part is that it leaves letters out of the sentence like its supposed to say "file is present..." There is nothing that would indicate what driver is causing this error to occur. Please help...
