creepwalker,
I have a 9546 also. I found this on the compaq forum:

"
The modem in that model of computer does not use any special drivers to operate in any way, form, or manner. Drivers for that modem do not exist.
Period. Nada. Zip. Zero. Null.
Drivers are not needed, and therefore do not exist.

Redetecting the correct modem in Win95 on a 5000, 7000, or 9000 series computer

Download SP1335.EXE from www.compaq.com.
Save the file to your HD and run it from there. Do NOT install it.
Copy all the .INF files from disk 1 to the Windows\Inf dir.
Start/ Programs/ Media Pilot/ Media Pilot Setup
incoming call minder to off.
then go into the control panel, modems and remove all modems from the list.

Then close everything, and reboot the computer.
After the correct modem has been detected on Com2, go back and turn the incoming call minder on. "

I looked in my device mgr and can copy the files for the modem (there's lots of them) and for the sound card (4 files).

Are the modem and sound card not showing up in your device mgr?

Let me know

Mom
