Need drivers for sound card presario 1247 laptop

anyonw know where can i get drivers for sound card , for presario 1247 laptop, i dont even know which is de model of it, i dont know what sound card use all presario 1200 series.

the drivers should be on your drive already be on your HDD or on your QR CD under the custom restore.

I could not find any *.inf files on my restore cd. A quick call to Compaq revealed my 1247 had an ESS 1869 soundcard. The ESS driver page can be found here:

I tried loading the drivers in Win2k, but it did not like them, insisting on installing the soundcard as "mutlifunction sound media" or something like that. I forced an install, but the drivers would not load into memory. Someone else let me know if you get it to work, ok ?
