Sorry, I have also tried cirrus, Microsoft and IBM. Found the only solution:: Replace the crystal system with Creative Labs at least they support their sound system. There is definatley a reason why everone wants to be SoundBlaster Compatible.
I spent way too much time looking for a soulution. Your problem probably started with a DirectX upgrade. You can also go to Windows/options/cabs on your computer. after you delete your sound in settings control panel system devices sound Chuck |

its a long shot but worth the try is the cs4614 drivers and software if you have not already tried it its a grade up from the cs4610 and if you have an IBM 2140/2142 then it may make the bose speakers work
