I have seen an nt machine that could drag & drop icons from the start menu. Making shortcuts easier then doing the open programs etc.. Is this a registry setting? service? or a patch? i tried loading it from scratch but i cant get it to do it again

install IE4.0
when it prompts you, install the desktop update.
I havent seen any other version of IE that will allow you to install the desktop update.
good luck finding ie4.0(SP2)
I wouldn't recommend installing the Active desktop in Windows NT
it causes many instabilities (memory cannot be read/ memory cannot be written..)

Computers do exactly what you tell them to do - not exactly what you want them to do ...
Internet Explorer 4.01 has the update. I got it on the service pack 5 CD but I'm sure you can get it off the MS website.
