[RESOLVED] Monochrome in Windows 2000

I've had this happen to me twice and I can't seem to fix it.

Right after installing windows 2000 and installing a few programs (the programs aren't what is causing this problem) I restart and after it gets back into windows and it seems like it is loading all its startup programs the video goes black and white and inverted. If I bump the colors down to 16 colors it doesn't do it, but the second i go back up to 16 bit or true color it does it again. it doesn't matter what resolution i'm at, i can't download new drivers because s3 doesn't have any win2k drivers for the viper330 (that's what the video card is.) if i force the video to standard, restart and after it loads back into windows i reload the drivers it works fine,,,, till i restart the computer. i can't find a support database article, and the other computer this happened on was a completely different setup. any one had this problem and knows how to fix it???
