I use nuro na dhave been trying to make a bootable cd disk that has all the cabs for win95, 98 and ME.I have no problem burning my backup cd with all the cabs but making the disk bootable has been a challenge. Any advice is appreciated !!!!!! I did just copy all the WIN98 boot disk files to cd and did not work.Could it be a first track issue with IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS & COMMAND.COM? Thanks again !!!!!
Also tried autoexec.bat with cd rom support.....as well......HHHmmmm.... :confused: :confused: <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
Gonna have to be able to SYS the CD to make sure your system files are in sector 0, track 0. I have never done this, but in order to SYS it, it's gonna have to look like another drive to your software first. Besides that, you are also gonna need to change the bios to boot from a CD as well. Not all Bios's allow for this but most of the newer ones do.
Thanks SBLIVE, Yeah the BIOS is set to boot from cd rom.The hard part is making it look like drive,Maybe a CD-RW.......

Yes, it is going to have to be CD-RW, I use Adaptecs Easy CD Creator software myself. It's actually made by a company called Roxie now which is a spin off of Adaptec
Sorry guys, it has nothing to do with DirectCD or using CDRW's. Check out this item from ROXIO's knowledge base for specific info and instructions for making a bootable CD with Easy CD Creator:

2. If you're using SCSI CD drivers, you will need the SCSI driver too and the line in the config.sys for the SCSI controller device driver (note that not all SCSI-controllers and motherboards can be used to boot from CD-ROM).<hr></blockquote>

Useing <a href="http://www.nero.com" target="_blank">Nero Burning Rom</a> u can make a bootable cd with data on it. I use them all the time, and have a small series with drivers, different boot disks and all, its very simple, just select Bootable cd, insert the boot disk you want to use (make sure it has the cd-rom drivers & mscdex.exe running) and it'll use it, then add files, burn and voila...

select bootable disc from nero Start up Screen and insert any Win9x boot Disk in drive "A:"
than put your files in and make your cd under iso format that is all
(You Also need to make your bios setup to boot cd"
