[RESOLVED] Win98 Unable to use RoadRunner anylonger !

I networked two Win98 PC's I can see both but
now I am not able to acess the Web from my
main PC where I have Internet access through.

I Removed/Reset/Reconfigured/Reinstalled all the aspects of the Network card that goes through my Cable Modem to also include "Winipcfg" by Releasing and Renewing ALL.

.....and to top things off I am not able to
use my "Backup" 'Ol trusty 56K Modem to dial up to my other "FREE" ISP, it does not let me Initialize the full connection and hangs up?

I allready removed all of the remaining Networking and went to the "Bare bones"
TCP/IP but nothing seems to help ?
(allready checked my Wsock32.dll is OK)

I think 3Com sucks by now, any suggestions before I FDSIK PC?

Are you using the internet connection sharing available in win98? I'm pretty sure you will only be able to log on 1 computer to roadrunner unless you pay for additional addresses from your isp or use internet connection sharing in win98 or use some 3rd party software like sygate.

Make sure you have the road runner line plugged into the uplink on your hub. Then connect all other computers to the regular hub ports. Finally make sure all of the pcs on the network are setup to connect to the internet through a lan.

I allready did away with the Network temporarily.

Now I'm just trying to use(1)PC,(1)Cable Modem (The Original configuration);
"The Orginal" PC which has Roadrunner but I cannot get a Socket to "dial" or "Communicate" out into the "WWW".

I've allready uninstalled/reinstalled Original Network card, did not seem to help?

ANYONE OUT THERE !!!!

Go to networking in control panel and remove all protocols, Next go to windows setup in add/remove programs and remove all the communications components. Reboot computer, go to windows setup and reinstall communications components, go to networking and add tcp/ip protocol if not already installed. Reboot computer and try your internet connection.

Thanks "RGK01" but that was done over 1000 times allready that is not the problem as I specified.

However the problems has now been resolved,
it was a Firewall component that activated itself after I allready turned off/disabled
it ?

I found this problem by purely Uninstalling other unused Networking software that RoadRunner set up on my PC previously.

The Network component had to Removed under
DOS, and now the Network is fine......
