I want to remove the connections tab from internet options...or just disable the "lan settings" button.

Why would you want to do that?
You can put a check in the automatically detect settings to not deal with settings.
i realize that....i want to prevent my kids from using a proxy to bypass my internet filter.
So they are bypassing Content advisor?

Two thoughts. Don't need to use it hardly at all but I think Poledit (policy editor) might be of help. Second, not to flame or anything but damn, if my kids went to that much effort to undermine my expectation of proper usage, I'd just yank the computer priviledges until and if they could prove themselves more deserving....

Policy editor won't let you limit anything in Internet Explorer so I guess I'd have to agree with Sowulo...I have twin nine y.o. boys. If they mess with the machine ,they don't use it. If your still intent on finding a way to hack your registry, register at
<a href="http://www.winguides.com" target="_blank">www.winguides.com</a>
and see if someone there knows a hack.
