M$ way to prevent fraud. It is an image of the hard drive I believe so you can still reload the image if you crash.
Dell was doing this too. I know they were getting **** for it.
Also: boot98 boot disk, fdisk the drive (i mean clear the whole thing and create a new partition. I will not matter if you use fat32, actually, I might suggest that and create one big partition. Reboot w/ the boot disk. Format c: . You should be good to go.
ok... now this i have heard of.... but the only time to worry about this is if you do not have the actual windows oem cd, this only applies to those stupid POS companies and their restore cd....
