are you using any third party download managers?

I don't think so. My daugher loaded Microsoft internet explorer provided by American Online. I have no problems with the internet or computer except when trying to dowload a program through the internet. This happens even when downloading Microsoft site programs, too. The computer just loses the connection at the beginning of the download. Thanks for the reply.Quote:

I read somewhere that many ISP servers consider that downloading is no net activity and disable the connection. There are softwares like 'Remain Conected' etc. you may want to try it while you download, it keeps on pinging your server so that it thinks you are active.
Do keep posted it it worked.

Thanks. I will contact my ISP first, then try your suggestion. Thanks again for everyone's replies.

aohell is a know poor service for chucking you right in the middle, or more frustratingly near the end of a down load. they may or may not let you get away with a pinger. they update their software pretty frequently to try to keep up weth all the hackers that write bots, booting proggies ect. for them so it may only be a temporary fix. if i sound like a long time aol user irts cause i am. https://forums.windrivers.com/))
I did a wmdig check and it said that the AIC rate was too low 0251... duh...what does that mean?
