Every alternate startup I get a message " Windows Protection Error. You need to restart your computer". I then have to start in safe mode & then restart in normal mode. Why so ?. I always shutdown windows properly everytime What could be the reason ? I am using Windows SE. Please let me know the reasons & possible solution.

Ah I found something already posted in this forum. But that's not valid with me. I have no scanner attached. No new devices connected. I use Win 98 SE, IE 5.5 and except for this error. ther is no other symptom.
