Thanks Weazel, but that site, (sofar in my search) has only talked about the enhancements of ME none (that I could Find) talked about the downside of ME! hese are the sites that I want to find where I will get the REAL Scoop on the program! Thanks.
You can run DOS based software from within the Windows shell environment, in a similar fashion to NT's command Line Prompt. I have some old DOS based software that works fine under ME but refueses to run under 2000, but it worked under NT4 https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2004/08/1.gif
As long as the software doens't demand the use of DOS drivers then it should work.

Also if you select to View all files including system files, then you will notice a hidden folder called 'MSDOS7'. This still shows that ME can still use DOS apps.

I just read this at the PC Magazine review of ME: "Crucial under-the-hood changes include the removal of the Windows 9x option to restart or boot to the MS-DOS command prompt (DOS applications are still usable in DOS windows, however) and an overhaul of Windows' Internet plumbing that improves performance but causes incompatibilities with some widely used Internet software. The help system has vastly improved troubleshooters and more informative error messages; the whole system is friendlier to experts and novices alike."
I hope this helps in the answer.
