I swear, I had it written down somewhere and cannot find it now to save my life. I think it was a little registry hack that would keep shortcuts from displaying the silly arrow at the bottom of the shortcut icon.

Don't remember the exact registry hack either. I'd just use TweakUI.
Thanks, Sowulo! Duh...I forgot all about that being in TweakUI. You're da bestest!!
I forgot about that 1 - found this though "Open regedit find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT open it and find \inkfile and \piffile. There is a string named IsShortcut in both of these. Remove it and restart"
Seems like I remember just searching for IsShortcut and deleting all instances...

For all your Windows tweaking needs. ;)
If your link to a registered EXE or a system folder I can teach you a DIRECT LINK method using CLASSID's. That way is cool, because you can right click and get the properties of the program instead of the shortcut. =)
Open display properties, click on appearance tab, click on ITEM drop down arrow, select ICON, change size from 32 to a number below 30, Select apply and close the window. Good bye arrows. Hope this helps. :)
It's been awhile since I did it but I think that made the icons look a little strange.Quote:
