Here is a problem that I have been wondering about. See it about once every two months. Ever go in install an HP printer and have the setup program saying this device can only be installed from add new printers. But HP printers have to use the setup program to install. Has anyone else ever seen this? And if so, have any idea what the fix is.
I fixed this problem for a customer by removing all the drivers and software for an hp printer..then downloaded the newest drivers from HP. Then I was able to use the add printer and not have to use the setup program. I have a had a lot of issues with HP Printers and Win 98...
Use the Add Printer option, then click "have disk". Works every time with HP, Lexmark, Canon, and Epson that I've ever installed.
