TYAN S1854 Trinity 400
Just picked up an S1854 TYAN mainboard and some of the jumpers were off the mainboard, What I need is the jumper placement for 3pin JP20 near the CMOS battery the jumper is marked STR and the manual shows it as reserved and that is all, no jumper setting, and for some reason TYAN'S websight is down, what a coincidence.

Gee Silverman I wish I could help since I just worked with that board :( . I installed the S1854 without sound. That jumper was not on the board. It kind of thru me for a loop because the manual didn't differenciate between the two types of mobo's. There was a resistor where the J20 jumper should have been.
Oh by the way I did switch out the crucial memory for the OCZ memory and it did make a difference. It benchmarked about 20% higher, so go figure.

Thanks for the reply PAK, this is the second board I have worked on and the first did not have the J20 jumper. So I think this may be an older version. I guess I'll have to wait 'til TYAN gets the websight back up, unless of course the problem is on my end. Anyone else haveing trouble with www.tyan.com ?

I emailed TYAN tech support today and was amazed at the quick response I got back, anyway in case this happens to someone else working on a version B Trinity 400 the j20 jumper should be 1&2. They didn't elaborate on what the jumper was originally designed for but did mention that on later versions of the 400 the jumper was replaced with a resistor. Now, if I can only get the board to work....
