BDC backup puzzler

here's the situation. i have a NT 4.0 SP3 BDC that has 8 gigs of total available space between disk 0 and disk 1. of that about 5 gigs is being used.

i'll run a normal backup set to replace NOT append on a 125M 4mm 12/24 gig tape and the BDC will fill that one and ask for another, then finish up.

i'm not backing up anything else from across the network and i'm not mapped to anything. we're running the same batch file for this bdc as we are for the pdc and the second bdc but this is the only one doing what it is.

Suggestions anyone?????

What tape backup software are you using? And are you compressing the data? (I guess that shouldn't matter if you are backing up 5GB to a 12GB native tape).
One other thing, have you looked at the tape catalog to make sure that you are indeed appending and not saving new backup jobs?

pcshark, thanks, the catalog showed me what i needed to know and have corrected the problem which in the end turned out to be the way the security permissions were set for the Root...ouch....
