Heck in a Handbasket
Well, I've already seen that things are going to go to heck in a handbasket after I leave (The company I have worked at for 16 months doesn't allow temps for more than 12 months! Whoops!)
My boss asked me to update the engineering intranet page, the one that I'd been maintaining for the past 16 months. I edited my local copy of it, and started copying the files to the server. It comes up with "Are you sure you want to replace file index21.htm (110K) with index21.htm (50K)?"
What the hell? The server version is twice as large as my local version? That's not right. I cancel the transfer, and open the file on the server. It looks OK, but then I check the source. My boss had tried to edit it this morning... Using Word... 97.... He'd managed to add over 50K worth of crap code to the page! GAH!
I can only imagine what that page will look like in 6 months....

You are out the door anyway, right? Screw 'em, tell him "Great job!" and take off. When everything goes AFU, when they call (and they likely will) tell them as a consultant your rates are double your old salary. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
Go get 'em Cap'n!!! Good luck with the job search, BTW. Hope it all works out.
