OK, my turn! Who makes the best (or worst) motherboard for the proc of your choice?
Best for me:
Socket 7 (ATX) = Aopen AX59Pro
Socket A = Asus A7V
And the list goes on..
Worst:
ANYTHING from PCCHIPS or SuperMicro!

I like AOpen alot but man, my Asus boards are stable like rocks and they all run fast. I haven't bought a board since my P3B-F tho so I'm not up on the new boards..

The best MOBO is the one you don't have yet and the worst is the one you just bought...at least that's how I try to explain it to my wife so I can get the money to upgrade!

Worst = FIC, hands down. We ordered about 20 FIC Socket 7 boards at the first of the year, and I could only get like 5 of them to actually POST, and to be honest, I wish I never would have gotten them to work, because it was nothing but headaches from the start.
Underdog = Chaintech. I've used quite a few of their boards, and they work quite well, actually. We use the 7AJA boards in our low to mid-range Duron/T-Bird systems, and they're solid as a rock. They have on board sound, but can it can be disabled. And they actually have an ISA slot, which you see less and less of these day.s

Without a doubt P3B-F is the best board I ever bought. My opinion of Asus went way up.

I usually recommend Asus for the serious shopper, or Gigabyte for the price concious shopper.
I've never had problems with either. The worst think I've ever RMA'd an ASUS for was a bad BIOS flash.
AOpen can make a pretty mean board also.

I'm running a Tyan board now, I was using QDI but got bored with that.
I am very happy with my ASUS - Cuv4x
It's been working perfectly since the moment i put it in.

Slot 1 -> MSI BX Master (personal system)
S370 -> Asus CUSL2 (EXCELLENT board)
Socket A -> MSI K7T Pro2 (haven't had Pro2A yet, but sure it's similar, very stable and easy to set up, and POST readout on board)
Super 7 -> Soyo 5EMA+ or Tyan S1598, both rock stable and cheap.
Darren: is QDI a decent brand overall, or just one four-star board? We had the opportunity to carry them but declined since we hadn't any experience with them.
BTW there is actually one standout among PCChips boards. M741LMRT was our "value" board for a long time. Slot1/S370, everything onboard. It was very stable, and RMA was like 1 out of 10. It worked well and cost little.
M598LMR on the other hand was horrible, it was the Super7/SiS530 complement to M741 and was utterly trash. like 5 out of 10 RMA for various reasons, and just overall flakiness with many of the others. We ditched these after a few weeks of hell. This is the typical PCChips experience.
*UPDATE* I may have a new member of my "Most Hated Motherboard" list... I have a SS7 DFI board giving me fits right now....
