XP QUESTION
Ok,we know about the 14 day authentification. I was told but can not find info about a limit of how many machines it can be installed on.I mean...Say I wanted to install it on 15 machines here at my house, only one up at a time. I was told there is a limit of 11. Is there any truth to this....rumour? Just curious. And yes it is still working fine(not great). <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

the thing is, you enter the serial number, then its not active until you go onto the net and register with m$. Doing this limits only one computer a XP cd. Get it? So if you try to use the same cd key and it has been registered with m$ then it will reject you because the other machine has already registred it. Now if you reinstall XP you will have to call up m$.

So I guess when customers in the future need upgrades or ...Change HD or MOBO's there in for a ride huh? Job security,I love it... LOL

"All I did was change the memory, add a new NIC and add a new SCSI controller. I can't get into Windows now - it says that I have been deactivated."
Mmm - $60 an hour just to make a phone call. Or install the NoWPA fix...

Thats not really to cool, small changes such as that could leed to alot of headaches for m$.And for techs. Please let me know your solution. Do you need to just contact microsft or can you wipe clean and try to activate again?
Thanks
