Rundll32. Need to know!
Happy Monday and welcome back to work all ye tech gods and godesses. I would like to solicit the opinions of the experts once again, so that i migh enhance my understanding by leeching knowledge from my conrades-in-arms.
So what the hell IS RUNDLL32, and why does it have a part in so many windows errors?

My understanding of it is that RUNDLL32 is part of the core of Windows that gets, assign, run and releases resources for all dll's action.
Thats why you see it at every cornet when there is a problem. It is that part of windows that crashes....

Here is one definition from an article found in PC Magazine Online:
"Rundll32.exe is used extensively by Windows to launch a wide variety of actions defined in DLLs. One of its many capabilities is invoking Control Panel applets. A file with the .cpl extension contains one or more applets, and some of the applets may display multiple pages. Using Rundll32.exe, you can launch any of the applets found in a CPL file, and in many cases you can cause the applet to open on a particular page."
