Internet Disconnect Prompt.

I really feel stupid cause I know that there is probably a really easy way to do this but I'm short on time and lazy.......... https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif

You know the little prompt that pops up when you shut down Internet Explorer that ask you if you would like to disconnect from the net? How do you get that back if it comes up missing???

Its Windows 98se IE 5.0

I have a customer that wants it missing. Anyway, in Internet explorer, click on tools, and select internet options. Select the connections tab. Then click the settings button, making sure your default connection is highlighted in the dialup section. Click on the advanced button, then put a checkmark in the box for prompt to disconnect on internet applications exit. If there already is a checkmark, but the machine is not prompting you, then off to the registry. Let me know if you need info on where to go in the registry. Weazel was a help in this area before.

I'm not running 98 anymore, so I don't know the exact registry key, but there's an easy way to find it. Just search for "autodisconnect" and you'll probably find the keys you are looking for. It's as simple as changing a zero to a one, so I'm sure you can handle it.

actually - the easiest way to do it - is under internet properties
connections tab
goto settings
and under that somewhere (dont remember - no longer have dialup) is the setting that say autodisconnect
i found this when i was still on dialup and had my server going (i used wingate and set the dialup to kill after 10minutes of inactivity becuase i had a single line - no call waiting)

Kannible actually hit it on the head, thanks dude. Problem is, that this solution works on one of my shop puters but not on the customers.........hehe.

Time for me to do some more digging. I'm starting to suspect a larger underlying problem. I think it might be time to run a virus scan.
