best board???

best board???

I'm building a computer for someone that said, and I quote "give me the best of everything, I don't care how much it costs!". I'm just wondering what everyone would suggest for a motherboard and processor combination, btw...any dual processor P4 or Thunderbird boards out?

Yeah Tyan has the only dual athlon board out, it uses the AMD 760 chipset, and supports the AMD MP chip but T-birds and Durons work fine with it. The board is madd expensive but has onboard RAID, dual channel SCSI controller, video & sound (don't use either!) and has AGP Pro slot (backwards compatible) and 5 PCI slots 3 of which are 64 bit (also backwards compatible I believe). and supports 1.5 Gigs of DDR Ram (I think 1.5G). This is a sick setup but definetly will be expesinve and hard to get your hands on..
Epox makes good athlon boards (my personal favorite)

Be carefull,though! That category of people quite often cann't imagine, how much really will it cost them, and, as result,can make more problems for You, than ordinary "normal" customer.

no windows, or any Microsoft software, No Linux or even AMD, Intel Parts.
No crashing or Blue screen, or Reinstall OS,
by pressing off button it's turn-off Immediately

There are no Dual P4 mobo's and no plans for any.
There are dual boards for other types of processors though.

Go P4. Use the Asus P4T, and 1.7 Boxed with 256 MB RAM. Its a dream to set up and very stable. It is not finicky at all, which is the problem I have had with both Athlon boards I have tried. I did get them both to work, finally, but they were very particular about hardware and driver versions, etc. The P4 with the Asus is easy and stable.
