expert board cmos battery problem

the mobo is expert board EXP 8661
maybe about 3@4 years old
using pentium166

i got low memory message at startup and when i
hit F1 to resume it always go to BIOS setup
it still continues to go to BIOS setup after i save the setup....

i try to search the battery at the mobo but can't
find anything matching battery that i know
does this mobo had an embedded battery?
how can i boot to c:?

Try looking for a small rectangular box that may say Dallas on it. A Dallas type battery is usually not replaceable(at least without some solder). It is supposed to last a minumun of 7 years(HA!). The best place for cmos batteries is the following link. They have helped me in the past

i tried looking at the mobo and can't find

I only found a square chips that says ODIN.
BTW how can i boot to harddisk and ignore
the perpetual BIOS setup?

Agree with Techs,so far as remember that motherboard, that MoBo really use Dallas DS12887 chip (or may be similar chip from another manufacturer). That chip has 24pins, some of them can be missed,though.Can be soldered into board or can be inserted into 24-pin socket (easy replacable in last case). May be even ODIN chip - what exactly numbers,by the way?

So far as harddrive is correctly autodetected by BIOS and there are no conflicts by default, You can ignore battery low message... But,anyway, time and date will be resetted to BIOS default every time You switch off computer...

i've seen the Dallas chip that you mention before...its quite different with that ODIN
(Dallas is soldered to mobo while that ODIN is like a BIOS chip that can be taken out without resoldered)
I have taken a closer look at the mobo and still can't find anything that resembled that Dallas..
BTW, just like i mention before i can't boot to harddisk, the BIOS setup kept coming up...uhhh
any suggestion?

Just have downloaded manual for that motherboard from http://www.dataexpert.com.tw/service...e/manualM.html .

Dallas chip (DS12888) is present and shown on picture in manual (page no.8)and located near BIOS chip (27010). Are You sure,what You correctly tell us motherboard model number,or You have missed something? https://forums.windrivers.com/

maybe i can post the mobo layout here.
from the mobo manual that Ruslan gave me i saw a little bit difference from my mobo
- the ODIN chip reside beside the BIOS chip instead of the Dallas chip.
still one question......
how can i boot to harddisk since the BIOS setup keep coming up although that i save the setting....i don't mind the date
