Well, next time I talk to you all I'll be duel booting Redhat 7.0 and w2k. i'm gonna try the linux first and hopefully get that going... I'm gonna need a bit of help with this one. *that's for you breakwindows*... thanks in advance for any suggestions.

A bit of advice: install Win2K first, then Red Hat. Red Hat's bootloader will load either...Win2K's won't. But if you install Win2K last, then it's bootloader is gonna dictate things.

NPALADIN is right save the headaches and load WIN2k first! I just finished the same install. It went just fine.

The usual install order is 9x first, NT/2000 next, and Linux last. IIRC, Linux will give you the option to boot to Linux or NT, and if you select NT, then it loads NT's boot loader, which will give the option of loading NT or 9x. (And I think if you select 9x, then you can have to option of booting 9x or DOS. Fun fun fun!)

The general consensus is correct; You should probably install Win first, Linux second. However, if you are only keeping a small linux partition, you'll probably end up using a bootdisk instead of a bootloader anyway.

I like bootdisks for loading Linux, also those HD trays are great for loading different OS's....just have another drive in there with all the shared files you need and you are in business....especially considering today's HD prices!
