Have you....
...ever heard of being able to put a Slot A processor in a Slot 1 board? I thought that they were different. Reason I'm asking is I just had a customer come in insisting that it could be done.. claiming he's done it on at least 5 systems. Is it possible?

That would be interesting. I guess if you have a big enough hammer, anything is possible. How many of the systems worked after his installation?

I have never heard of this, and I don't think there are any SlotKet convertors available. I would assume that your customer is on about PPGA <-> Slot 1 rather than Socket A <-> Slot A.

I just had to verify my sanity... He was saying that he was just plugging the duron into the Slot1 without any converter. He ever raised his voice when I tried to explain that it would require some sort of adapter. Customers are such a pain sometimes.

Slot 1 and Slot A are physically compatible. They are not, however, electrically compatible. This means that you can pop your first generation Athlon into a Slot 1 (pentium ii) motherboard and that baby will fry. My point is: It will fit...and it will fry so beware!
