I cann't connect to the internet, but i can not browse the internet. I removed all network and dial up protocols, and reinstalled them. When i dial i dial correctly and sign on the the server but can not open a web page. I had this problem before with another PC and i was told a way to edit the registy and that fixed the problem, but i can't remember what i did before...... HELP!>!>!>!>

If I understand you Rick you can make a connection but not browse any page, correct?
What you probably need to do ( and what you most likely did before ) is remove Dail up networking. Then edit the registry and delete the Winsock2 key. Then reinstall dial up networking. That should fix the problem. Let me know if that does't work!

I'd like to also suggest, if you haven't already, running quick virus and spyware scans. I have seen machines that acted like that because something else was messing with the net connection.
A good free spyware scanner is AdAware, you can find it in the Downloads at www.zdnet.com
Good luck.

I never remember where exactly winsock2 is just do a search for it and it will find it for you.

I'm not trying to imply anything, but I have seen the same problems that you are having and the culprit ended up being an autodialer D/Led from a pr0n site. It would overwrite your current dialup and when you try to connect to your ISP, it would try to dial an international number that went to Kerplakistan or somewhere and cost like $20 per minute.
Just a thought....
