Does anyone know of a place to find a list of Domain Names along with their associated IP addresses? I'm setting up a proxy server and would like this information to block certain sites.
Thanks in advance for any help!

You can poll lists for domain names - be aware that there are about 250 million web sites active even if only 10% are running their own domain name that is still 25 million names to search - you can use windows ping or goto qwho and do a lookup to see what domain name belongs to what dns and ip address. good luck -
p.s. if this does not help please let me know more details of what you ae trying to do.

Another cool thing you can do is in LMHOSTS you can redirect the IP to something else.
We had a problem with an employee who CONSTANTLY surfed eBay, so we re-directed eBay to the corporate web site.
She was pissed, and there was nothing she could say!

Downloading the entire DNS database would be a gig or two at least, last time I heard. Check around for sites that have already compiled "blacklists" that you can use.

Thanks for the replies guys! Does anyone know of a site that would have one of these "blacklists" on it, that is really what I am looking for.
If you do not trust your employees, maybe they should not be working for you in the first place.
By the way, their are MANY ways around proxy screens. 1) Public proxies. I have my own little proxy at my house. If I am at an establishment that tries to limit me. Sorry, you cannot out-fox the fox.
It's not the employees that are not trusted, it is the students.
Just out of curiousity, what type of network are you running?
