Hey all!
I'm replacing a failing fan on an IBM, and I've noticed some thing...
The heat sink seems bonded right to the cpu. Is there an easy way to remove without damaging the chip?
Thanks...damn these propietary machines...

it wont be bonded just stuck .....whats the word stuction,
fist of all leave the chip in place (clipped in) and try CAREFULLY to twist it , till the suction gives.
failing that , its chip out time and a stanly blade , slid in till u break the seal.
the "majority" of bonding glues would raise the HSF off the CPU ,,,only by a fraction , but that would reduce its ability , so whats the point.
