NWREDIR error
Got a customer unit. An upgrade to an ABIT mobo with an INTEL 866, nothing out of the ordinary. He had ADSL NIC, and a Modem installed, so I figured that with a new board we would delete the ENUM key and start the devices from the beginning. Interestingly enough, on restart the system found nothing - no modem, no NIC, no ATI video, etc. Hmmpt I said. We reinstalled WIN98 and all went well until the end when I received:
Invalid link dynamic link call from NWREDIR (04) * 000000D0 to device "0487", service 6 Windows configuration invalid, run setup again blah blah blah. Did that -- no fix. Finally able to "Y" past the error and got the ATI card installed, Sound installed. No other device are in the machine (NIC or MODEM). I still get the message, but can "yes it" past to Windows and everytihing "runs fine" until a reboot and I get the same error.
Any ideas?????
Sorry for the ramble, but I wanted to be complete.

Got a customer problem? Remember, the old proverb "walk a mile in another man's shoes"
At least you will be a mile away when they start complaining.

did you do a clean install of win98 sounds like a client32 from novell has been installed on here for some reason and after its pulled form the stack with out running the novell client unistall program you will get all kinds of crap in on the way up till its either corectly reinstalled or tottaly removed for the reg.
