[RESOLVED] cdrom/dvd

I have a Micron PentiumIII 600 mHz running Windows98. It has stopped playing cd's on insert. The auto insert notification is checked. The device has been removed and installed via device manager several times and still does not play automatically.

If I click the desktop icon, the window shows all the tracks, I can click a track and the cd control comes up and I can click play and it works fine then but no auto play. HELP

You can try going to control panel, add/remove programs, windows setup, multimedia and remove the cd player.

Reboot computer, go same place as above and reinstall the player, reboot computer - then try the cd rom player, it might work.
