Beeping Virus ??? !!!!
Saw a machine that when it boots up, take 20-30 seconds before the Video Bios Appears. During this time it make a noise like a lead hitting an internal fan. (starts slow, gets faster). I had a peek inside and narrowed it down to the speaker. Disconnected it and it still does take ages to boot, but quietly.
This only happens on a cold boot. Motherboard is A GA5AA with a AMD k62500.
Somebody said this could be a virus, but I can't find anything about it.
Does Anybody know what's going on here.

Check for an updated bios, and then check the voltage on the cpu. I know that the manual for many of the Gigabyte boards lists the k6-2 500 as 2.3 volts, but most of the chips are 2.2

The chips is running at 2.2
One thing, there are 4 drives of various types plus every slot is full. Could this be power related ?

1.Have You latest BIOS upgrade?
If BIOS cann't recognize CPU properly, it's
may slow down booting procedure.
I saw this effect on PCChips M725 and M748mr MB with old BIOS and Celeron processors.
2.Try to clear CMOS using special jumper and/or use default settings.
3.About power supply...Try to put out some of devices and look, how it affect on situation.
Good luck!
