2000 Pro OS can't configure my CD drive.
It USED to work, but has quit completely now.
CMOS recognizes it fine ... but 2000 barfs when it sees it.
Have tried reinstall/reboot several times to no avail.
Any ideas?

What does event viewer say about it?
Have you checked the chipset drivers?
