Help - Noisy Case Fans!!
I'm just wondering how to dampen the noise produced by the 2 fans I have installed in my case. It's driving me up the wall! Does the type of fans matter, or the case? Im not sure where to head with this. Please post some suggestions! Thanx!
Both fans are on the back. One is the power supply. The other one, I installed.

I've heard if you oil the bearings that should help.
Also if your PSU is too noisy, just replace the fan inside- it isn't incredibly hard to do but it will void the warranty :D

Fans range in the amount of noise they create, thats why a good shop/site selling fans will say what the decibel rating is for said fan. Make sure the fan is secured solidly to the case, and you could go with what Jungleman said for changing the PS fan. Good Luck. BTW what size fan in the back???

The fans are the same size. Just the regular size that fit on the case. Im not sure of the exact size.

Also, you could try dampening the noise of the vibration of the fan against the case by using rubber grommets where the screws attach or by using a small cloth or rubber lining around the perimeter of the fan where it attaches to the case.
