Do AOC monitors blow?
Hey all,
We seem to be getting backup a good size percentage of AOC monitors that are out in the field, most not even a year old. They all come back with about the same problem, the screen just cutting off and mon every second or so. This is both their 14" and 15" Spectrum 4V and 5E, respectively. We need a new monitor that is reliable for a couple years and pretty much be left on 24/7. We just started to get a couple Optiquest and Daewoo 14's to see how they last. Any recommendations from techs that have several hundred of a given brand of monitor out in the field?

I've used my AOC 15" monitor since May 1997 and it has worked fine, apart from the obvious lack of resolution when compared to medern monitors.
A week before the 3-year warranty was to expire, I requested an RMA as it had gone completely blank. No questions asked.
Sent it out to approved service centre, waited a week, came back perfectly functional and I've used it ever since.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is
not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they
are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them
as they fly overhead.

I've been using the 15" Spectrum 5E for a couple of years now. It is a cheap monitor but I haven't had any major problems with it...except for the fact that it is highly susceptible to magnetic interference. I have some big speakers set up next to it and they distort the picture and colors. My older HP monitor didn't have such problems. I have to play around with positioning everything to get a good picture and still get good sounds too.
Of course, this is only one monitor...can't comment on how the quality holds up over a large quantity of them.
