I have just installed a 16x10x40 BTC writer and tried a test burn. As soon as I started the burn Nero said "searching for relocation info" and win xp cd copy just spat the CD out :( . I have tried several cd-r brands.
The model is:BTC BCE1610IM
TIA

How about it's software? I think BTC comes with NTI CD Maker. Have you tried it? Are you sure that version of Nero fully supports your CD-RW unit?
Nope, still nothing :(
Its trying to do something as the busy light is flashing...

Nero and XP burning dont get along, if you have installed nero, turn off the inbuilt burning in the properties for the cdrw and reboot.
Did you have a burner in your computer before and then UPGRADE? Sounds to me like there might be a problem when Nero scans the SCSI/IDE bus for your old drive.
