I have resolved a conflict on my Ide2 channel which holds my cd rom and burner, but now I cannot get the cd roms to work they are visible in control panel, but the will not operate
Have same problem with brother' CDRW Teac and
CD-ROM Creative INFRA 48x (Panasonic-based model). Swapped both CD/CDRW positions on cable and all problems are went away.
I assume,what some CD/CDRW needs to be installed as slave or master only.
Have you checked the drive letters assigned to both of your CD-ROMS?Quote:

here is some thing you can try
Hkey_local_machine\enum\scsi\your cd drive here\MF&child0001& ... well , you will se what i am talking about...
in that folder there is a key for assigning the drive letter
the key name is
CurrentDriveLetterAssignment
and the value is just the letter , no colon.
