I'm currently working towards my CCNA cert going through the Cisco Networking Acadamy. What I need to decide is what netowrking operating system to specialize in, I've looked at the 3 big ones.. Unix, Novell and Microsoft.
I have no idea what i should go for. I do plan on upgrading my cert in a few years to CCNP and possibly beyond, so I don't want to pick something that will tie me down to LANs. Anyone want to make a recommendation or give pros and cons of the OS that you tend to work with
I think Unix certainly, and, I may be laughed at, but I think Microsoft,too. Even though many hope for MS's failure aas a player on the Internet, I'm thinking they have as good or better chance of straightening their act out security-wise to come out of the building war with AOL, Sun, and others with a dominant position.
I was thinking unix also, it's what runs the internet. You do have a point about MS..

I'd have to agree with UNIX and M$.
UNIX because it's generally well respected, stable and if you can master UNIX you can master anything. Microsoft, because I can't think of many companies that don't have at least one Microsoft product on their system - that'#s assuming that the entire network isn't MS only
