Hello, maybe this is a stupid question I should already know the answer to, but here goes. I am trying to clear my temporary Internet files. I have selected all in the file and deleted, however if I close the file and check properties it shows something like 2,550 files and 33 folders and a size of 46.5mb. I am set to show all files in folder options. What and where are this invisible files?
From Internet Options of your Internet browser, there will be a button to "delete temporary Internet files". Or if you're using 98, ME, or above, then there is an icon in System Tools called "Disk Cleanup" which will also let you delete temp. Int. files.

In Windows NT Environment Each user has it's own Temporary internet files.
The folder is located under Documents and Settings.
Take a look there.
Just for general knowledge the Default Internet Explorer Temporary Size is determined by the Size of the Partition on which the User files are (Usually c:\Documents and Settings\).

Oh btw,.. one more thing. Those files that are still showing up might be cookie files possibly. If I were you, but I'm not because I'm me, but If I were you, then I'd just leave the cookies there if you have saved passwords and stuff on websites you frequently visit.
An update here.....I know what int temp files are for and I know where they are! I am wondering why after I delete them all, (and there is nothing showing in the file), I get a 2550 file count and 33 folders in a file that appears empty. Again I have it set to show all files.

Oups, there is a "politically correct" filter somewhere. The **** is actually a 4 letter word
that start with an F and rime with PUCK. :D

Thanks Drone!!! I am shocked but I guess not really surprized. It amazes me how Microsoft can just go ahead and slowly eat away at your hard earned hard drive space and not allow you to easily take it back. All the more reason to do the complete fdisk reinstall (after wiping) that I do every few months. That article also explains why people who don't ever reinstall complain about slow downs in there systems.
Wow,.. cool site. I wonder how much disk space I can free up with this. :D

Thanks for the thanks, but the find is not mine.
It was discussed here some times ago and I kept the link handy in my favorites knowing I would have to use it often with the pc's we have here.
I have to say we liberated major Gb on the network with differents application of this. :p
