User Profile Trouble

hello all...i'm in a situation here and i hope you all can help me. a friend dropped off his computer and he wanted me to clean it up. i did the basic stuff and to save space i removed some old profiles that hadn't been used in a couple of months...or so i thought.

what this person did was make shortcuts to several documents in different profiles instead of storing all the documents in his current profile. is there a way to retrieve those profiles? anything????

Depends if you've written over any of the disk space the profiles were on, if you have, doubt you can only get fragments back.
