i edited my boot.ini file and swapped where the 2k setting was w/ where the 98 setting was. but there is an easier option to set it in win2k in the control panel. but without looking at it, i cant direct you to the exact location--my monitor is broken and i dont repair em. ill see if i can get my hands on a system i dual booted later and repost.
oh yeah, when i undid a dual boot system, i booted into 98, ran fdisk, wiped the ntfs partition (treated it as a large fat32--so answer yes when it asks you that) then repartitioned it as a regular fat32, then formatted it.

Thank you, I'll try that. I know there is an option in Windows 2000 (right-click My Computer, advanced tab), but due to the fact that the installation was aborted I can't get into W2K itself.
Just delete the winnt dir and copy the system files to your c drive from your win 98 boot disk and that will take away your winnt loder and everything will be back to normal..
I think the process of uninstalling W2K while saving a W9x installation is the same as it was for NT. From W9x format a bootable floppy (format A: /s), and copy SYS.COM on to it. If your W2K partions are NTFS, boot to the W2K installation floppys and go through the installation process to the point where you can delete partions and then remove your NTFS partions. Quit the installation process. Boot to your W9x floppy. Then delete these files, ARCLDR.EXE, ARCSETUP.EXE, BOOT.INI, NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM, NTBOOTDD.SYS from the root of C:. Then run SYS.COM (SYS C: https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif. You should then be able to boot directly into W9x.

(The smiley was unintentional, but I left it in anyways)
