IP Stacks
can anybody tell me how to rebuild or fix IP Stacks. We cant ping our server from a workstation it comes up with "request timed out " but we can see everything on the sever all the drives all the programs like its running fine but the HOSTS file is creating an error log stating WINSOCKS connection()failed . then we trced to the hosts file not being able to see our sever because or the ip address problem if anyone has seen this problem let me know .also i've checked the novell web site with no help :confused:

If you're talking about all the workstations in an office not being able to connect, then it's one of two things: the server is not configured properly, or the client32 software hasn't been installed with the IP protocol or is severly outdated. I would try to update the client software if you haven't already done so, BUT NOT until you have applied the latest service packs to your server.
What version of Netware are you running? Have you used INETCFG to properly setup things? Are the IP addresses set in AUTOEXEC.NCF?

we're running netware 5 with client 3.3 and checked the ip's there good but now we have another issue we fixed the problem all pc started to show in console one THEN every PC one by one got booted off the network had to shut down 203 PC'c 160 were in production needless to say BAD very BAD well we shut the server down broght it back up and the first problem resurfaced but now all the PC's seem to be running fine go figure....again no WORKSTATIONS in console one :( :( :(
