VPN help...
Im setting up my first VPN corporate connection. I have the 2 networks already set up. The main site is utilizing a WIN2K server, and the remote location has a group of Win98SE based workstations. Both networks are using D-Link Di-701 routers and a DSL connection. I have been through setting up the seperate connection for the VPN on both ends and it seems easy enough....except..
The IP address im trying to connect to. Is the IP addy im trying to connect to the IP of the server on the network or the IP of the router itself for access to the network? I have yet to be able to get a connection on this.
Also....is there anything that you see I missed here that should be set up?
Thanx! :D

Have you activated/configured IPSEC? Here's a <a href="http://www.networkcomputing.com/1116/1116ws2.html" target="_blank">Tutorial</a> or from MS' <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/using/productdoc/en/default.asp?url=/WINDOWSXP/home/using/productdoc/en/Conn_VPN.asp?frame=true" target="_blank">Site</a>

I don't know as much about this as I'd like, as I'm just starting to get into VPN myself, but I do know this, first you MUST make sure the VPN is compatable with the DLink router. I'm not sure that it is. I believe the IP you are asking for would be the IP of your VPN box. At our office, our firewall has VPN built in, so it makes life a lot easier for us, but we used to have an external VPN box on the inside of our network (Behind the firewall) and I believe it had it's own IP address, which we had to connect to. Of course, we also had to be able to pass through the firewall to get to that IP address.
Hope this helps! :D

As far as I know MS itself doesn't suport IPSEC yet, they use PPTP and L2TP.
