I looking for an firewire & Ethernet Hub or switch. Does this even a product.
http://www.pricewatch.com/ and search for firewire hub - I got 2 pages of em.
Wait a sec, are you looking for an ethernet hub/switch that also has firewire connections?
Didn't see any with 1394 AND ethernet though...
let's get thing right..
you want a single Hub for IEEE1394 (FireWire) and IEE802.2/3 (Ethernet) ?
I don;t think there's such a thing...
Firewire hub you cant get ...
http://www.networktechinc.com/hub-ieee.html
as for Ethernet Hub - Personnaly I would recommend a switch ..
if it's only a few computers I would go with Nortel Networks Baystack 70 Switch..
http://www.nortelnetworks.com/produc...526-a-6-99.pdf
if it's larger network - I would still go with Nortel Switch, only get a managed one -
you can use Nortel advisor ..

Yes that what I'm looking for an single Hub for IEEE1394 (FireWire) and IEE802.2/3 (Ethernet) and thats what I'm wondering if there is such a hub or switch. Thanks everbody for the help so far.
no such thing...they are not even close to the same thing. see www.firewireworld.com for reference
Nor should you expect such a thing. Firewire is bieng harnessed by the video industry and I would not expect much more from the interface - hard drives, removeable storage and audio/video input/output.
Thanks for the help everyone I'll just tell my boss their is no such thing.
Thanks again
Kelly

I think the FM has a firewire jack
It has an exceptional application for servers. Clustering shouldn't be done without it, nor NAS (Network Attached Storage for you people who don't know)Quote:
