i have a customer who is running 4 machines, using winxp networked using a common workgroup name and using netbeui, file and print sharing to see the other computers. the customer wants to upgrade to xp and if so, will i be able to see the other computers on the network and them see the xp machine, do i have to change any special network settings protocals?

Exactly what is he upgrading from? Is there an XP pc on the network currently; if no, what do you mean by "XP networking"?
By design, WinXP Pro is used specifically for networking. So long as the drivers are loaded correctly, and all hardware is compatible, you should have no issues.
