First, I'd like to thank the guys for their help in the other post about networking Outlook. I've thought about it and decided that I will go with one of the recommendations about geting 3rd party software. Does anybody know some good Scheduling software out there? It's only for a Network of about 6 PC's all with Win 98 SE. Once again, thanx for any help.
I'm not sure about GOOD software, *thinking I wouldn't mind finding decent scheduling software either* however, I'm using an older program called Clockman 95. It gets the job done, and for only six systems you may not need anything more powerful.
if anybody knows of a really good scheduling software, I would like to know too.

The only type I've used it Outlook.
If it's a Novell Netware network, then you can't beat GroupWise. I sync it to my PalmPilot.
why wouldnt you use outlook?

All 6 PC's must be able to send e-mail to each other. In Outlook go File -> Share -> Calander. This will walk you through the steps of adding users to share the calander with. Once you add users you can also set permissions for each user, you can allow some to only view the calander, others to add items but not delete them and others to have full control. Once this is all set click finish and outlook will send an invite to the users you added, they will then recieve an e-mail saying they are invited to join or not. They then have the option to accept or decline.
It has been a good year since I set this up, so I hope I got all the steps right. You can also share out your task list and contacts. If you need any more help setting this up let me know.
Right. And sharing calendars works without exchange server. If you're already using outlook i'd stick with it. though goldmine is a good program. we switched from outlook via exchange to goldmine a few months ago. goldmine is just a better contact manager and scheduler than outlook. and much easier to implement and maintain.
