DC adapter for compex switched hub

ive got a nice little compex switched hub that i bought over in the UAE while i was there. i want to use it to set my home network up. the problem is its adaptor is a 240v to 7.5v 2.1amp converter. ive looked all over town here (pensacola fla), and cant seem to find anyone who has a 110v version. does anyone know where i can get one. radio shaft cant even order it. i appologize if im in the wrong topic area, feel free to move me to a more appropriate area if theres a better place for my topic, i just couldnt seem to find one for a hardware issue like mine. thanx in advance guys and gals.

How about a 240V - 110V convertor?

It shouldn't be that hard to find an adapter that puts out 7.5 volts. I'm assuming the problem is that you can't find one with a plug that fits yours?

As long as the amp rating is at least 2.1 and the voltage is 7.5, just buy any one that you can find and then cut the plug from your 240V adapter and put it on the new one. Just make sure you don't hook it up backwards.

i can find any number of converters that will put out the 7.5v the problem is getting the 2.1amps. the max ive been able to find is 1.0amp. im not worried about the plug, as you say i.m just going to cut the current end off and splice it on to the adaptor if i can get it. i have found one that will put out 2.0 amps do you think the .1amp difference will give me trouble. im not real hip with this sort of thing, i build lots of puters for people but i dont usually get into the actual electronix issues. thanx again for any help

Have you found any that are 2.5 amps or higher? The hub will only pull the amps that it needs, so as long as the voltage is right it doesn't really matter how high it's rated for amps.

2.0 will probably be just fine. You have to remember that the current 2.1 amps is the rating of the adapter--who really knows what the requirements of the switch actually are. All you know is that the required amps are 2.1 or lower.
