Hub

How do I know if my hub supports 100bps network transmission ?
I have a genius 8-port hub, and thats all it says.
I get tons of collisions when copying etc through windows, but games run like a dream with no collisions. :p

Genius stuff is generally pretty cheap, so I doubt its anything spectacular, but there should be more info, probably on the bottom of the hub, or at least in the manual.

I've never seen a 10/100 hub or switch that wasn't labeled somehow to identify the fact.

Well, thanx for replying, but its not very helpfull... I bought the hub 2nd hand, so I don't have a manual, and the hub does not say anything usefull on it. But its not a big problem, mostly just curious ! :) :D

And like Sowulo, I have never seen a dual speed hub or switch that did not have the fact that it was dual speed conspicuously displayed. If its not labeled, 10 to 1 says it is 10Mbps.

If there is an FCC ID number on the Hub you can use windriver.com to search for it

at http://forums.windrivers.com/company.htm there is a area you can search for the DFCC ID number and it should tell you more than you already know.

but If I had to guess I'd say it's 10Base-T hub...

if it has a Coax connector or AUI connector it's 100% sure ot 10Mbit..
